New movie trailer and promotional poster released

A new movie trailer has been released from Phantom Film for the upcoming Higurashi movie due for theaters this summer, which you can watch below (coming soon) or at Phantom Film official site. It is more in-depth than the previous teaser that was released and I've developed more positive feelings towards the movie so far. Phantom has also released a promotional poster (chirashi) for the movie as well, which you can see to your right. (And in case of inquiry, the text on the paper is Keiichi's hidden 'suspicion letter' he placed behind the clock.)

Behind the Scenes of Higurashi movie

Sites Famitsu and Dengeki Online have offered an exclusive first look on the Higurashi live-action movie due for theatres later in 2008, which is still undergoing some filming on location at Shinto shrine in Nagano Prefecture, Takatomachi. Pictures include Director Ataru Oikawa as well as the cast, Goki Maeda (Keiichi), Airi Matsuyama (Rena), Rin Asuka (Mion), Aika (Rika), and Erena Ono (Satoko). Ryukishi07, the creator and writer of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni revealed that he will have a cameo appearance in the film as well.

Higurashi Movie 30 Minute Special

The Higurashi Movie special aired recently.It special includes interviews with the cast and director of the movie, and premieres Eiko Shimamiya's new song, "Wheel of Fortune". It shows many clips of the movie, as well as short interviews with each of the main actors and actresses. Currently there is no subbed version of this special, but even if you do not speak Japanese I'd recommend watching it anyway. I hope you all enjoy watching this as much as I did!

30-minute special on Christmas Eve

According to this report from Animate, a 30-minute special for the upcoming Higurashi live-action movie will air Monday, December 24th on Sun TV. The movie itself will be directed by Ataru Oikawa and will star Gouki Maeda (Keiichi) and Rin Asuka (Mion). A Spring 2008 release date for theaters has been set.
